A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ENTRY-LEVEL SALES ASSOCIATE / CASHIER

As an entry-level Sales Associate / Cashier at Goodwill Industries of Akron, you represent our organization. You play a crucial role in furthering our objective of delivering services to the community. While customers appreciate our well-maintained stores and affordable products, they continue to return due to the exceptional service they consistently receive

There is never a dull moment. Nevertheless, customer satisfaction always takes precedence--whether assisting shoppers or donors. You warmly greet each person who approaches, regardless of how busy you may be. You make sure all customers are informed about the Elizabeth Clark Fund, encourage their involvement, and promote the utilization of their Goodwill Club membership. Your enthusiasm is infectious

Handling transactions, manning the cash register, and operating the point of sale system efficiently are part of your responsibilities as a cashier. You meticulously complete tasks such as donation tallies, readings, daily financial reports, deposits, and cash drawer reconciliations with precision. When the phone rings, you respond with the same level of warmth and dedication to customer service, ensuring attentive listening.

You also participate in the selection and pricing of donated items and textiles, ensuring adherence to Goodwill's quality standards. Moreover, you take pride in maintaining a consistently tidy and organized environment. You thrive on staying productive and enjoy the opportunity to meet numerous individuals daily, including repeat customers who appreciate the exceptional service you provide.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ENTRY-LEVEL SALES ASSOCIATE / CASHIER

Proficiency in cash register operation, basic math, computer, and typing skills
Aptitude in cash register operation and providing accurate change
Capability to lift up to 30 lbs
Customer service expertise

WORK SCHEDULE
