Job DescriptionDescription:Summary: The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department for both Waco and California-based operations. Job duties range from routine to complex and regularly require interaction and collaboration with all levels of staff. The position requires the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement when identifying and resolving employee related matters.
· Handles simple to moderate employee relations matters. Serves as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns. Promotes a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives.
· Administrates and maintains the HRIS system ensuring data integrity. Maintains HRIS records and personnel files. Processes new hires, transfers, terminations, leaves of absence, FMLA Administration, and exit surveys in coordination with HR Director and payroll. Compiles, generates, and prepares reports as requested by management.
· Responsible for workers compensation administration including claim reporting, investigations, tracking, monitoring, problem solving and coordination with insurance carrier, medical provider, and employee. Assist with preparations and maintenance of OSHA log as required.
· Supports and stays current on compliance requirements, makes recommendations, and advises management of needed action in areas such as EEO, harassment prevention, I-9, employee files, wage and hour and a variety of state and federal employment laws and regulations. Provides support for compliance reporting and internal/external audits.
· Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, as well as professional standards.
· Administers employee benefits programs, including health plans, retirement plans, and other perks by assisting employees with benefits inquiries and enrollment processes. Collaborates with external vendors to manage benefit plans effectively. Implements annual open enrollment changes and administrates benefit renewals.
· Effectively supports change management initiatives by communicating new, changing, and existing policies and procedures while enforcing and ensuring understanding and compliance.
· Supports performance appraisal processes, providing guidance to managers and employees. Assists in identifying training needs and developmental opportunities. Monitors and tracks employee performance metrics.
· Execution of the onboarding process. Conducts new hire orientation, new hire paperwork, training on company policies, and coordination between management to ensure smooth integration.
· Implements and supports various projects and initiatives to streamline HR processes by setting timelines and schedules, conducting research, analyzing data, and making recommendations.
· Responsible for recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt positions to include, external vendor management, job requisition approvals, maintaining and writing job descriptions, posting positions, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, making offers, communicating with hiring managers and coordinating and scheduling interviews. Preparation of monthly recruitment reports is also required.
· Liaison for temporary staffing agency and Managers/Supervisors for all temporary staff recruitment efforts, onboarding, and employee related issues.
· Provides general clerical and administrative support (filing, sorting, copying, data entry, etc.) to ensure personnel records and files are maintained in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies and procedures.
· Provides excellent customer service by consistently demonstrating our core values.
· May be required to perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
Requirements:Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
· Proven experience in HR roles, with a focus on Generalist functions.
· Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience in Manufacturing environment preferred.
· HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
· Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, HRIS (Paylocity a plus).
· Valid TX Driver's License with ability and willingness to travel locally on a regular basis and support various shifts as needed.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish and able to translate as needed is strongly preferred.
