  • The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.
    Posting Summary
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Development tasks include documenting specifications, programming, testing (manual and automated), and troubleshooting.
  • The Application Programmer will also support daily operations by monitoring, running, and automating custom system processes and tasks.
  • The position is also responsible for staying informed of advances in technology and adapting to new development tools and techniques. Operates under close supervision.

    Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have experience in the following tools/technologies: Microsoft.
NET Core 7 or newer, C#.NET, Entity Framework, ASP.NET, SQL, Visual Studio, Git source code management.

  • Must be able to write secure programming code utilizing secure design principals and secure programming techniques.
