V. is a medium-sized company with approximately 30 employees. For over 55 years, our goal has been to improve quality assurance in medical laboratories.

As an interdisciplinary, non-profit, and scientific-medical society, our focus is on improving the quality of laboratory analyses as the basis for optimal patient care.

Without appropriate external quality control and verifiability based on clearly defined parameters, the testing of samples using various test systems from different manufacturers - as is common in thousands of medical laboratories - could lead to deviations that are far outside the tolerance ranges and thus make reasonable diagnostics/therapy impossible.

To monitor and promote the reliability of laboratory value determinations by all market participants in all areas of laboratory medicine, proficiency testing is used as an independent instrument.

V. currently offers over 380 proficiency testing programs in all areas of in vitro diagnostics.

With more than 200 members, INSTAND e.
V.

is active as the reference institution appointed by the German Medical Association for quality control of medical laboratories in Germany and worldwide.
