- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, training and educational programs, forms and other required documents to support programs and meet regulatory requirements.
- Subject matter expert for assigned regulatory programs, simplifying complex and potentially contradictory regulations.
- Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders, advising on procedures and providing guidance.
- Safety Committee Chairperson.
- Maintain awareness of related Federal Register proposed and final rules, and corrections, as well as communiques that may impact the organization from other governmental agencies including, but not limited to, Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), OSHA and Pima County Health Department (PCHD).
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 2 years employee health and safety and/or regulatory experience.
- Demonstrated safety & health expertise and leadership, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and translate complex regulatory documentation.
- Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills exhibiting respect and diplomacy.
- Ability to appropriately prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
- Highly motivated with ability to maintain a positive and professional manner, establishing respectful, supportive relationships with stakeholders.
- 3-5 years of employee OSHA/Safety & Health experience in a healthcare setting.
- Bachelor's degree.
