As they continue to expand their operations, my client is seeking a talented Category Manager with expertise in Injection Molding/Plastics to join their team and drive strategic procurement initiatives in this critical area.
Position Overview:
As a Category Manager specializing in Injection Molding/Plastics, you will play a pivotal role in managing their supplier relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring the highest quality standards for our medical device manufacturing processes.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with their business objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute category strategies for Injection Molding/Plastics, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure a robust supply chain that meets quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Conduct market analysis and stay abreast of industry trends to proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to drive innovation and support the development of new products and technologies.
Lead supplier performance reviews and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve supplier performance.
Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, internal departments, and executive leadership.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
4-6+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with a focus on Injection Molding/Plastics within the medical device industry.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to drive cost savings while maintaining quality standards.In-depth knowledge of injection molding processes, materials, and technologies.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical devices (e.g., FDA, ISO) is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Highly analytical with a strategic mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software (e.g., SAP, Ariba) is a plus.
Ability to work onsite in an office setting for at least 4 days per week.
