Position provides support, training, supervision, and instruction to individuals in social, employment, emotional, and behavioral skills; supervises assigned staff; reviews individual support plans and completes data collection; transports individuals to and from various community sites; performs other job related duties as assigned.


Essential Functions:


  • Provide support, training, supervision, and instruction to persons with disabilities in a variety of areas, including social, emotional, communication, behavioral, employment, and daily life skills;
  • Provide leadership and training to assigned staff to ensure individuals receive quality services;
  • Review plan supported activities and ensures data collection as it pertains to ISP;
  • Transport individuals to and from various community sites;
  • Maintain daily/monthly attendance; maintain a calendar of attendance changes;
  • Schedule various integration activities for individuals, including assigning staff to individuals served;
  • Will:
  • Conduct job development research;
  • Train individuals on job and adult daily living skills;
  • Conduct on site staff observations;
  • Complete annual performance evaluations;
  • Maintain recreational activity schedules;
  • Maintain all relevant documentation to include but not limited to individual records, logs, files, monthly reports, billing sheets, etc.;
  • Attend and participate in all relevant agency events, workshops, training and meetings; and
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Ability to gain working knowledge of St. John's Community Services policies and procedures;
  • Ability to act as a representative of St. John's Community Services to the public;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds;
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records;
  • Ability to supervise staff;
  • Ability to train and instruct persons with disabilities in a variety of skill areas;
  • Ability to operate relevant computer systems, including hardware and software, and office machines.
Work may require lifting heavy objects up to 30 pounds.

Work environment involves risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions e.g. safely operating a motor vehicle, exposure to aggressive human behavior.

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required; A.A. or B.A. preferred
  • Requires two or more years related experience working with persons with disabilities; experience in community based programs preferred;
  • Must meet SJCS and funding jurisdiction current requirements for criminal background/records check.
  • Valid health certificate to meet current funding jurisdiction requirements;
  • Valid stateissued driver's license with current driving record in good standing required.
