We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Advertising Account Executive to join our team as a contractor, with the potential of the role becoming a full-time permanent position.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving advertising revenue through the sale of advertising space in our publications, seasonal sponsorship campaigns and other digital products.


As a key member of our sales team, you will have the opportunity to work remotely and manage your own schedule while earning competitive commissions through a generous revenue-sharing package and bonuses.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prospect and acquire new advertising clients through outbound sales efforts, networking, and cold calling.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all advertisingrelated inquiries.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand clients' advertising goals, target audience, and budget constraints.
  • Develop customized advertising proposals and presentations that align with clients' objectives and showcase the value of advertising in the Austin Sports Journal.
  • Negotiate advertising rates and contracts with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that meet revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with the publisher to ensure seamless execution of advertising campaigns and deliverables.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on sales performance, pipeline activity, and revenue forecasts to management.

Requirements:


  • Proven track record of success in advertising sales, with at up to 2years of experience in media sales preferred.
  • Strong understanding of advertising principles, media buying processes, and digital marketing channels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver persuasive sales presentations.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Selfmotivated and resultsoriented, with a drive to exceed sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of the sports industry and a passion for sports journalism is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
