BICSI and manufacturer certifications are great, we also provide OSHA 30 training and certification paid for by PCS.

    Position Overview

    Professional Cabling Solutions is seeking an Access Control System Technician to perform system management of the access control system along with the electronic door and security camera hardware. This on-site position will be responsible for the installation, repairs, and programming of all access control-related systems, along with related networks and software. Applicant must be able to work in both office and outside environments and may work independently or within a team. Professional Cabling Solutions is a Drug Free workplace.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain the functionality of all fields and low-voltage devices programmed to the access control system.
    • Monitor the status of devices which include cameras and door access control to provide 24x7 system availability.
    • Perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance tasks on access control electrified door hardware.
    • Coordinate door hardware and lock issues.
    • Obtain static IP addresses for all controllers and submit them for network monitoring.
    • Serve as Subject matter expert on the evaluation and effectiveness of existing technologies currently being used.
    • Run low voltage and composite cables in commercial buildings.
    • Be able to cut in door strikes and maglocks, when needed.
    • Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that access control systems are complete with total customer satisfaction and contractual requirements.
    • collaborate with project managers and other onsite technicians on job progress and timelines.
    • Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational.
    • Perform new installs and provide technical escalation support both on-site at customer locations as well as remotely via the phone and specialized tools.

    Qualifications

    • Two years of related experience installing and troubleshooting access control equipment.
    • Three years experience including card access control systems, wiring, electronic diagnosis maintenance and lock hardware installation/maintenance.
    • Basic low-voltage experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience in field installation experience in the security environment: CCTV, Alarm, Fire, and Access Control.
    • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
    • Computer/laptop/smartphone proficiency.
    • Highly proficient with the use of email, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn internal systems.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
    • Must have a collaborative work ethic.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
