Overview:


The
Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be responsible for enabling the certification/approval of solid-state lighting (LED) products by informing the development engineering teams of regulatory and performance specification requirements during the design process, developing and implementing test plans, coordinating and submitting packages to comply with UL, CSA, IEC, DLC, ENERGY STAR, and other state/national/international regulatory and performance standards.

This position reports
Expected to work Monday-Thursday onsite in Racine, WI. Ability to work remotely on Fridays.

Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate knowledge of UL, CSA, FCC and International standards on successfully providing compliance support, testing, and reporting in the development of LED lighting solutions
  • Manage key lighting product submissions and coordinating with the Test Laboratories, Certification Bodies, etc. on obtaining industry recognition such as ENERGY STAR and DesignLights Consortium (DLC)
  • Coordinate internal/external photometric testing for Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, and Marketing/Sales that offer timely, accurate product characterizations
  • Attends meetings as required, including product design and launch reviews and provides input to product specifications
  • Play an integral role in the development of LED lighting solutions through both individual and team contributions
  • Serve as an expert on the required agency standards/specifications during the design, development and prototyping process
  • Serve as a direct interface between UL, ETL, TUV, and other labs and the internal development teams
  • Work across company crossfunctional teams to ensure project success
  • Successfully prepare submission packages to minimize project timelines with outside agencies

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of UL 1598, UL 8750 and UL 1993 and their Canadian equivalents, FCC 15, and IEC standards around LED Lighting luminaires
  • Knowledge of LED components, LED lighting systems, and LED testing is preferred
  • Good technical writing and communication skills required
  • Strong ability to analyze data and communicate results within a team setting
  • Selfmotivated with a strong drive to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to exercise leadership, diplomacy and problemsolving skills when coordinating and working with all levels of employees
  • Ability to work independently and be selfsufficient while managing multiple projects
  • Willing and open to travel both domestic (<5%)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • Occasionally fabricate components, assemble systems, prepare experimental samples and fixtures, etc.
  • Occasionally operate basic hand tools, shop tools and lab equipment
