Appel Farm Arts Camp seeks patient, enthusiastic Bunk Counselors for our overnight summer arts program No arts experience necessary
-
must be 18+ years-old, have some experience working with youth; successful completion of all required criminal history checks in order to work in a school; excellent communication skills; ability to lift 25 pounds occasionally.

Partnered with another adult, Bunk Counselors live with and care for a group of 8-12 campers
- supporting and growing their independence, time management, social-emotional learning, and all the types of day-to-day care that go along with operating in place of caregivers.

• Key Responsibilities:_
• Manage daily routines of campers
• Provide socialemotional learning and support
• Mediate camper conflict
• Facilitate development of age and developmentally appropriate independent living skills
• Facilitation and supervision during bunk times (bunk cleanup, rest hour, wind down, bedtime, etc.)
• Supervision at the bunk area during outofclass times
• Full engagement in allcamp events and activities

We are especially looking for applicants who
can live in either a Male-centered or Gender Inclusive bunk.
Americorps Counselors schedules will generally revolve around the camper's class schedules. Campers are in classes Monday through Saturday from 9:30 - 11:45am, and again from 2:00 - 4:45pm

• Americorps Counselors are Off Duty during these times, in addition to a ~36 hour "Day Off" every week.

• Appel Farm is hiring 3 Americorps Bunk Counselors for 6week contracts, running June 21 through August
• Americorps Counseling staff will be paid $3106 over the course of the 6week contract.
• Once hired by Appel Farm Arts Camp, there is an additional screening process required to complete the Americorps hiring process.

After completion of the contract, Americorps Counselors are eligible for an additional $1000 award to be applied to tuition and educational expenses

• Your children (ages 816) can attend camp tuitionfree Younger (ages 07) children may participate in our Little Appels program.
• Tuition discounts available with Rowan College of South Jersey and Widener University Graduate School
• Make connections with other artists and young professionals from all over the country and the world
• Classes focused on exploration and experimentation rather than perfection or technical expertise
• 40 minutes from Philadelphia and the New Jersey Shore (Atlantic City, Ocean City, Cape May), 2.5 hours from NYC and DC
• Red Cross Lifeguard and/or Mental Health First Aid certifications provided at no cost to you

• Applicants must be willing to live onsite for the duration of contract dates. Hired counselors will live with another adult in a shared bunk with minors. Please acknowledge that you understand this requirement and are willing to do these things.
