The ideal candidate will be ultimately responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing construction materials testing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope, and leading of field technicians to achieve this. The Project Engineer I will review project relative documents and construction activities to assure compliance with project specifications. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the public works, transportation, commercial & residential building mining and/or industrial sectors. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow safety rules and standards for all projects.
Oversee large scale grading operations and infrastructure improvement projects.
Perform various special inspections during construction i.e., reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, post-installed anchors, and Post-Tensioned foundations.
Prepare daily field reports documenting site construction activities.
Communicate directly with clients and potential clients regarding project needs.
Manage Personal field equipment.
Adhere to Alta Southwest company policies.
Ability to perform in house training.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be needed of available.
Review proposals and reports for small and large projects of varying complexity.
Perform quality control review of proposals written by others.
Schedule and review laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
Serve as a technical adviser for Field Technicans.

Education/Formal Training:

We are looking for a recent graduates.
All field level certifications (Nuclear Safety, ACI, and ATTI field) or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
Experience writing daily field reports documenting site activities for review.
Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Continually required to stand. 8-9 hours daily
Continually required to walk. 8-9 hours daily
Frequently required to sit. 2-3 hours daily
Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. 8-9 hours daily
Continually required to talk or hear over environmental and equipment noise. 8-9 hours daily
Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard. 8-9 hours daily
Frequently required to lift/push/carry items no less than 50 pounds.
Frequently work in elevated surfaces, environmental conditions such as rain, wind, snow, and extreme heat.
