- Establishes and executes forward-thinking, goal-driven development plans and programs that optimally grow the annual fund and capital campaigns.
- Partners with parent and Booster organizations as well as the Alumni office.
- Works with the Head of Advancement to maintain a campaign calendar in keeping with other school calendars.
- Manages the development budget, forecasting needs and meeting budget targets.
- Develops and maintains a highly collaborative relationship with the Head of Advancement, Division Heads, Administration, and the Head of School, supporting them in all their fundraising responsibilities, and facilitating donor visits when appropriate.
- Collaborates with Stratford's Advancement Team (Head of Advancement, Development, Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications) to plan and produce communication materials that enhance the School's visibility and reputation.
- Ensures annual fundraising goals are met.
- Serve as a representative of Administration, collaborating with colleagues in coordinating a vibrant school atmosphere.
- Facilitates opportunities for the development of relationships between the Head of School and donors.
- Creates opportunities for the Head of School to ask for major gifts.
- Other duties as assigned. l candidate is a collaborative individual who possesses the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with 3-5 years of development experience in independent schools or higher education preferred.
- Experience managing successful fundraising campaigns.
- Appreciation for and commitment to independent school education and culture.
- A track record of success in a major gift or capital campaign environment is necessary, along with demonstrated ability to develop and implement 5-, 6-, and 7-figure gift strategies.
- Ability to develop and execute a high-level, multi-tiered fundraising strategy across multiple constituencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work graciously with all the School's constituents while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong data analysis and public speaking abilities.
- Strategic and creative thinker with a "can-do" style, able to convey Stratford's mission and vision, while taking the practical decisions needed to make programs run well.
- Passionate about working with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency using database management software (Raiser's Edge at Stratford) to coordinate campaign activities. Proficiency with MS Office and Google Applications.
- Practical experience working with and motivating volunteers and staff members.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to multitask, strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with the Macon/Middle Georgia community or a candidate who is personable and ready to build relationships in and outside of the School community.
