JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Art/Special Events Manager, the Art Instructor is responsible for creating and implementing art-based curriculum and leading students through various lessons


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Create and implement curriculum for all ages
  • Assist students with projects including setup and clean up
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with participants, parents and staff
  • Work within a budget
  • Perform the job safely and in compliance with District policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook
  • Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • General work area is indoors in a smokefree environment with controlled temperature and fluorescent lighting
  • Exposure to noise distractions from employees or equipment operation
  • Infrequent exposure to cleaning materials
  • Subject to modified/flexible work schedule
  • Stand in an indoor classroom environment for up to two (2) hours

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate the ability to provide leadership
  • Organized, creative, flexible, and effective communication skills
  • Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Three to five years of experience in the art field and/or teaching
  • College degree in Art or related field preferred
