Job Summary
The primary focus of this position will be to assist in sales and to assist in jewelry appraisal with Martin Binder.
We are looking for a responsible, results-driven, and highly motivated sales assistant who is ready to support the sales staff.
As an appraisal assistant, you will be helping in the process of jewelry appraisals by evaluating and writing accurate professional appraisals of jewelry items.
Responsibilities
- Support sales staff by providing efficient and engaging POS transactions for customers.
- Document sales by creating or updating customer profile records.
- Process payments; checks, cash, and credit cards.
- Understand and utilize policies and procedures to be proficient in handling customer transactions and solving customer service issues appropriately.
- Effectively attend to customer service needs in a friendly and helpful manner when approached.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, multitask, and be flexible in all situations.
- Assist in store set up and closing operations.
- Perform basic store maintenance, merchandising, and other required activities to keep store clean, safe, and inviting.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Process clean and checks, master Quality Control standards, and participate in shoprelated inventories.
- Assists in preparing customer appraisals including evaluating jewelry, researching replacement pricing, and documenting official appraisal
- Identify and measure various gemstones
- Photograph jewelry
- Grade Diamonds
- Test metals
- Check to be sure all stones are genuine
- Asses for proper hallmarks and karat stamps
- Verify certifications
- A Graduate Gemologist degree is preferred. Familiarity with industry terminology and gemological equipment is required.
Requirements:

- Strong communication & organizations skills required
- Luxury sales experience preferred minimum 2 yrs.
- Graduate Gemologist preferred
- 3 years of appraisal experience is required
- Saturdays required

$ $26.00 per hour
