Early Childhood Director


The Early Childhood Director contributes to the mission of the Center for Disability Services and the Education Division by developing, implementing, and monitoring all aspects of the daycare and preschool education programs of the Center.

Works collaboratively with school districts, municipalities, and other external organizations to ensure regulatory compliance and quality and cost effective programs.

Works collaboratively with other education program directors and the clinical supervisors to ensure quality, cost effective education and related (clinical services).

Works with other division program directors to ensure quality, cost effective use of agency resources and effective transitions between programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and monitor systems and processes to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations and Center policies within the preschool and daycare education programs for assigned region.
  • Promote and implement the Early Childhood Programs Quality Improvement initiatives by training and empowering employees, continually monitoring and analyzing process and outcomes.
  • Ensure, establish, implement, monitor, and correct the financial plans (including planned student enrollment, student attendance, clinical service volume, revenue, expenses, and fundraising) for all preschool education programs.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and correct marketing plans (including oversight of market analysis, pricing, product, and promotional strategies) for preschool education programs for assigned region.
  • Ensure the recruitment, selection, orientation, and management of the performance of directors, clinical supervisors, special education teachers, classroom paraprofessionals, clinicians, and support staff in Albany and Glenville preschool programs
  • Ensure, establish, communicate, and monitor systems to ensure efficient enrollment and transfer of students
  • Monitors status of NYS Teaching Assistant certification for all Teaching Assistants within Albany and Glenville preschool
  • Ensure, establish, communicate, and monitor systems and processes to develop and maintain student records.
  • Ensure, establish, communicate, and monitor systems and processes to improve, measure, report and analyze parent satisfaction with the education program
  • Ensure, establish, communicate, and monitor systems and processes to improve, measure, report, and analyze stakeholder (e.g., school districts, municipalities, regulatory agencies) satisfaction.
  • Ensure all students IEP's are being met.
  • Ensure that all operations and safety policies and procedures are documented, communicated, implemented, monitored, and reported for facilities/space in which assigned programs operate.
  • Promote and implement the Early Childhood Programs Quality Improvement initiatives by training and empowering employees, continually monitoring and analyzing process and outcomes.
  • Tracks and codes trainings for all staff as it pertains to OCFS regulations
  • Schedule and maintain records for emergency drills per OCFS regulations (i.e. fire drills, lockdowns, etc.)

Requirements:


  • Graduate degree (Masters, Doctorate) in a field of Education Administration, Special Education, or General Education
  • Currently in the process of obtaining New York State Permanent Certification as a School Administrator or Supervisor
  • At least 3 years of job related experience, specifically in the field of Special Education
The salary range for this position is
$78,741 - $87,028 and is commensurate with experience.
