Job Summary:

Teaching assistants' primary responsibilities include but not are not limited to the following: Teaching labs for PHY depending upon assignment), assisting students during lab hours, and grading lab assignments in a timely manner.


Pay Rate:

$14.00/hour (will be increasing to $15/hour on 1/1/2025)


Required Qualifications:


In order to be considered for this position, applicants must have at least one semester of graded coursework at ISU with a major GPA of 2.75 or above.


Preferred Qualifications:


Preference will be given to applicants who:

  • Are a Physics major at Illinois State University and are enrolled in the appropriate major courses.
  • Are registered for PHY 112 (Physics for Scientists and Engineers III) or beyond by Fall 2024.

Work Hours:

Varies, scheduled lab times range from 8:00am - 9:00pm, Monday - Friday
