Description

We are looking for a passionate Logistics Lead to join our growing team

This position is primarily responsible for managing the timely and efficient physical preparation and loading of customer orders and unloading and put away of incoming material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinate workflow to ensure timely product receipt and daily ontime shipping requirements are met.
Responsible for new 2nd shift employee training.
Responsible for following all company safety rules and guidelines.
Monitor all aspects of employees' productivity.
Assist employees with problem solving and work processes.
Ensure quality standards and workmanship standards for Sellars products are met on a continuing basis.
Ensure that all shipping processes are being followed.
Determine, suggest, and implement the most costeffective manner to improve logistics processes to better serve our customers and company.
Perform day to day shipping activities as department workload requires.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Able to problem solve (identify problem, define root cause, develop alternative solutions and select and implement most effective solution).
Basic understanding of overall Sellars warehouses that enable control of the key quality parameters and workmanship requirements.
Basic computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Trained in material handling equipment.

Language and Teamwork Required

Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Demonstrated capability to function within a cross functional team and/or to lead cross functional teams.
Flexibility in work assignments.
Ability to exercise professionalism, courtesy and tact in dealing with all members of the Sellars organization and external resources.
Ability to encourage and foster team work within the logistics group as well as outside the logistics group.
Good communication (written and verbal) skills dealing with issues in a positive, complete manner.
Good coaching skills with the capability to deal with issues in a positive but complete manner.
Ability to seek out, listen and value inputs from all levels in the organization.
Positive work attitude.

Education and Experience Required

3 to 5 years of experience in warehousing in a manufacturing environment.
Prior supervision experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Position requires continual walking, standing or sitting.
Must be able to climb on and off of material handling equipment on a frequent basis.
Must be able to lift and carry of up to 50 pounds.
Occasional bending and kneeling.
Must be able to move with ease on and around material handling equipment.
