Description
Graduate Student Worker Duties and ResponsibilitiesStudents are responsible for assisting in the instruction of classes with a laboratory component.
The classes include general biology, human anatomy, microbiology and core and advanced undergraduate courses for biology majors.
Each class consists of 2 hours of lecture and 4 hours of laboratory per week.
Students are required to be present during both lecture and laboratory.
During the laboratory portion of the course, the student assists the professor in the instruction of the laboratory course.
This may include, but is not necessarily limited to, helping the students dissect specimens, identify materials on slides and perform the required experiments.
The student also helps to grade the examinations, quizzes, laboratory reports, etc.
The teaching assistant may also give introductory lectures for the laboratory portion of the class.
