Housing Case Manager Supervisor-Housing Support Care Manager Program

_ Position Function_:
The primary functions of the Case Manager Supervisor
- shall be to survey all casework on a day-to-day basis for consumers in the Housing Program. The Case Manager Supervisor shall be responsible to the Program Director regarding day‐to‐day management of all Case Managers, their clients and their housing plans and support of Housing goals.


_ Educational Requirement_:
Must be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a minimum of a Master's Degree in Human Service**s.

He/she must be licensed to provide counseling services in the District of Columbia and have professional knowledge of the theories, principles, techniques, and practices of social service delivery systems.

He/she must also have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience providing counseling and case management services to individuals/families experiencing homelessness or other related populations.


_Salary_:
This position is an exempt, full-time position. The salary range for this position is $75,000- $85,000 per year.


_Licensure and/or Certification_:
Must have a valid LPC, LICSW. First aid and CPR certification. Valid state driver's license, proof of auto insurance and ability to utilize personal car for travel within the region. Child Protection Registry (DC,).


_ Experience_:

At least three years' supervisory experience, to include demonstrated leadership, familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and compliance related operations of the organization.

Knowledge of current evidence based practices and field implementation of those practices. Knowledge of HUD (Home First Model), DHS (PSHP), DCHA (HCVP) and DBH (MHRS/Community Support) regulations a plus. Teamwork oriented, flexibility in working assignments and locations.


_Working Environment_:
Challenges due to multiple calls and inquires. Subject to many interruptions. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.


_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
_

Working knowledge of computer systems. Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, analytical, oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with board members, community leaders, professionals and staff. Knowledge of professional standards and ethics for various disciplines.


The Case Manager Supervisor tasks shall be inclusive of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Assigns caseloads and related duties, and coordinates activities of staff in providing counseling services to assist clients with problems related to homelessness, emergencies or crisis nature.
  • Assists agency staff members through individual and group conferences in analyzing case problems and in improving their diagnostic and helping skills.
  • Reviews case records and evaluates performance of staff members and recommends indicated action.
  • Participates in developing and implementing agency administrative policy.
  • Counsels clients individually or in groups on planned or experimental basis and in emergencies.
  • Trains new employees in areas such as agency policy, department procedures, and agency or government regulations.
  • Provides inservice training for experienced workers in areas such as new policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Represents agency in community or in interagency activities.
  • Conducts or directs staff development programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
