Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Assistant to join our team. As a Facilities Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, repairing plumbing fixtures, and painting walls
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify any maintenance or repair needs
- Assist with electrical work, including wiring and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Weld and fabricate metal components as needed
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for facility maintenance
- Supervise contractors and vendors when necessary
- Assist with the installation and repair of HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, and compressors
- Interpret schematics and logic controllers to diagnose and resolve issues
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems
- Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and logic controllers
- Basic electrical knowledge is required
- Ability to weld and fabricate metal components is a plus
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
