Position Description:
Responsibilities:
Duties are extremely broad in scope and the position involves a variety of planning, administrative, technical, organizational, and project coordination-related tasks related to a large number of diverse projects.
- Review grant proposals for completeness and compliance and write exception letters as or when needed.
- Evaluates terms and conditions of grants/assistance awards to include costs, schedules, and oversight responsibilities.
- Serves a liaison with external customers, recipients, and awardee community to clarify, interpret, and resolve issues.
- Represents the client in grant administration matters.
- Monitors, assesses, and ensures compliance with all terms and conditions of award.
- Provides recommendations to program managers regarding grant assistance policies, procedures, and practices.
- Provides technical assistance, oversight, expertise, and consultation to program officials, awardees, applicants, recipients, and subrecipients as needed.
- Review and reconcile grant expenditures to ensure compliance with funding allocations and financial reporting.
- Review and cooperative agreements and incoming subawards and maintain documentation of all reporting deadlines and requirements.
- Performs administrative and analytical work for discretionary grants, cooperative agreements, and mandatory grants.
- Facilitates modifications to terms and conditions of grants/assistance awards to include costs, schedules, and scope of projects.
- Performs the administrative functions such as termination or closeout of grants and/or grants assistance and agreement awards.
- Reviews and processes quarterly, semiannual, and annual reports submitted by grantees.
- Applies grant and Federal assistance regulations, policies, procedures, and practices for the daily maintenance of the clients grant portfolio.
- Support departmental projects/activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- At least five years' experience in grants administration, with a background in transportation grants preferred.
- Some familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as public finance and budgeting.
- Some familiarity with legal principles of negotiation is preferred.
- Must be detailoriented, well organized, and able to handle multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to handle ambiguity and exercise independent judgment.
- Must be a fast learner and able to work independently after initial instruction.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and willing to travel to various professional meetings and conferences.
Employment Classification:
This is a full-time staff position.
The position includes compensation that is competitive in the private market, with an excellent benefits package including:
paid time off, health and dental insurance, disability, and life insurance.
Pay:
$50, $70,000.00 per year
