    Job Posting: Agricultural Technician I (Seasonal)

    Department: Department of Food & Agriculture

    Job Title: Agricultural Technician I (Seasonal)

    Hourly Rate: $20.61 per Hour

    Final Filing Date: Until Filled

    Job Description and Duties
    - Prioritize and establish work routines to deploy insect traps in commercial citrus areas and other selected crops. Use a state vehicle to monitor GWSS activity.
    - Inspect insect traps bi-weekly for GWSS detection and other pests using a state vehicle in a designated territory.
    - Use field survey techniques in agricultural areas to detect GWSS infestation effectively using a state vehicle.
    - Identify GWSS and other pests under quarantine to facilitate program response.
    - Recover and sort GWSS traps at citrus orchards for further screening.
    - Perform additional duties as requested by the PDCP Headquarters to control the spread of GWSS and Pierce's Disease.
    - Provide temporary technical assistance for tasks at the PDCP Arvin Field Station as needed.
    Candidates may perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
    Working Conditions
    The position involves primarily outdoor work in agricultural fields under various weather conditions. The role requires driving a state vehicle, inspecting traps, and exposure to temperature variations.
    Incumbents may work with pesticides with appropriate precautions.
    Travel may be required, so a valid CA Driver's License and safe driving record are necessary.

    Special Requirements
    The incumbent must maintain a valid CA Driver's License and a safe driving record to operate a state vehicle responsibly.
