Description

Under the direction of the Cardiovascular Services Manager and the charge nurse, performs procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and angiographic suite.

The CVT/RCIS works collaboratively with the nurses and physicians in the care of patients with cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena.

PTCA, stent prep and placement, IABP placement and operation; as well as a variety of interventional radiology procedures including: angiograms, biopsies, biliary drains, stenting, embolization, ablation, dialysis access, and kyphoplasty.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to operating the physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining high standards to achieve quality patient care and keeping critical skills current.

Understanding that healthcare delivery is continually evolving, and departmental needs and goals are subject to change, responsibilities may be expanded or restricted at the discretion of the Department Director.
