    **Job Summary**:

    The successful candidate will have experience in consulting and be passionate in helping WEST to succeed. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and have previous experience supervising and managing project teams. The chosen candidate may begin as soon as possible.

    The Program Support Team Leader will manage a team in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office working with the Middle Rio Grande Endangered Species Collaborative Program (Collaborative Program). The WEST Program Support Team provides third-party program and science support services to the Collaborative Program, which is a partnership of 17 governmental entities, Pueblos, and non-governmental organizations. The Collaborative Program works to further scientific understanding and address uncertainty around the federally listed species in the Middle Rio Grande (MRG) of New Mexico.

    The Program Support Team Leader will supervise and coordinate the efforts the WEST team that supports the Collaborative Program project, and will work with WEST on other projects as time and experience permit.

    Responsibilities include the following:

    Provide leadership in coordinating the teams efforts in support of the Collaborative Program project

    Keep abreast of and identify project needs by attending Collaborative Program meetings and communicating regularly with representatives

    Communicate project priorities, goals, strategies, and deadlines to the team

    Promote communication within the team, ensuring accuracy and consistency in messaging to the Collaborative Program

    Work with the team to ensure that work products remain consistent with the strategies outlined in the Collaborative Programs guiding plans

    Lead the completion of and assist with completing contract deliverables, including progress reports, briefings, letters, work plans, schedules, and other work products

    Review and give feedback to the team on a variety of administrative and scientific documents prior to dissemination

    Manage the project budget, submission of deliverables, and annual reporting as relates to the contract

    Provide guidance for prioritizing and managing work products for the Collaborative Program

    Maintain a neutral and unbiased perspective as part of the third-party Program Support Team

    Promote a team atmosphere and develop a collaborative environment

    Work with WEST project managers and clients on other WEST projects as needed

    Work with the Senior Manager(s) and other WEST personnel as appropriate to develop proposals and respond to RFPs as needed

    This a general description of the functions for this position and is not inclusive of all the duties which may be associated with this position.

    Job Requirements **Requirements:**

    A minimum of a bachelors degree in an environmental or natural resource field of study; an advanced degree would be considered in evaluating applicants

    At least five years of professional experience in a personnel management role

    Previous project management experience

    Experience in consulting and familiarity with the areas of natural resource science, including avian biology, fisheries biology, hydrology, conservation biology, and/or restoration ecology is preferred

    Good leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate others

    Experience working with stakeholders in a policy-setting environment

    Strong, competent writing skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

    Strong quantitative skills

    Good time management and organizational skills

    Ability to effectively evaluate and manage workloads and delegate work as needed

    Ability to work effectively with peers, follow instructions from managers, and accept guidance and constructive criticism
