Labor and Employment Paralegal - San Diego, United States - Direct Counsel
Description
Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including case investigation, discovery, and trial preparation.- Conduct legal research on labor and employment issues using various resources, including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
- Manage document production and review, including electronic discovery and document management systems.
- Coordinate and calendar deadlines, hearings, and other important dates.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Prepare materials for client meetings, depositions, and hearings.
- Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits and presentations.
- Stay current with changes in labor and employment law and provide updates to attorneys as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABAapproved program.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal or legal secretary, with a focus on labor and employment law.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state court rules and procedures.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Detailoriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software.
- Experience with electronic discovery and document management systems is a plus.
