Knowledge and Experience:


  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in all aspects of construction.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in construction.
  • High School diploma or above required.
  • Trade School/College or equivalent work experience in Bridge and Building and/or construction preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate successfully with a variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for training and coaching activities.
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation & Federal Railroad Administration rules and regulations preferred.
  • Knowledge in train operations and safety requirements preferred.
  • Must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Comply with and ensure compliance of direct reports with all related safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required.
  • Preferred knowledge of MS Office package.
  • Qualification in Keolis Commuter Services/MBTA MW1, CWR, or equivalent required and knowledge of 49 part CFR 213 Standard
  • NORAC and Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) qualification required.

Skills:


  • Must be able to perform in a 24/7 transportation company with multiple shifts that may include weekend hours
  • Communicates successfully with variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external staff
  • Must possess excellent verbal and writing skills in train operations, safety requirements, corporate policy and procedures, and union contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for training and coaching activities.
  • Satisfactory prior job performance required.
  • Must have strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Accountabilities (Essential Job Duties):


  • Supervise restoration and renewals of track and qualified to inspect track for defects as requiredunder Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration regulations.
  • Responsible for quality assurance of work performed by Track Department employees.
  • Must be available to respond to emergency calls at all times.
  • Must be flexible enough to cover special planned assignments as necessary.
  • Identify training needs and assist in the formulation and implementation of programs as required.
  • Administer collective bargaining agreements through regular job performance.
  • Ensure compliance with KCS equal employment policies, safety rules, and operating rules.
  • Other duties as assigned during emergencies.

  • Wear protective equipment (Vest, safety show, hard hat, hearing protection)
  • Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a nonstandard work week)
  • 100% travel expectations
