Waaree Energies, a global energy solutions provider, is building a new solar PV module manufacturing facility in the Brookshire, TX.

The facility will is projected to have an annual capacity of 3GW of solar modules for the North American market.

The facility is slated to begin operations by the end of 2024, and we are poised to become a leader in highly automated solar module manufacturing.

Our commitment to sustainability, efficiency, and technological advancement drives everything we do. As we rapidly expand, we are seeking a skilled Procurement professional to join our supply chain department and help drive our purchasing department


Job Summary Statement:


As a Buyer at Waaree Solar Americas, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and components necessary for solar panel manufacturing.

You will be responsible for sourcing high-quality materials at competitive prices, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and maintaining strong relationships to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

This position requires a keen understanding of the solar panel manufacturing process, its specific materials, market trends, and supply chain management principles.

This position is full time on site and may require occasional travel to vendor locations.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Procure raw materials, components, and equipment required for solar panel manufacturing, ensuring costeffectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Research and identify potential suppliers/vendors, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing and terms.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to anticipate changes in supply chain dynamics and proactively address potential challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and quality assurance teams, to ensure alignment on procurement requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers/vendors to facilitate effective communication, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze procurement data, including pricing trends, lead times, and supplier performance metrics, to optimize purchasing strategies and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to manage inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and streamline the flow of materials within the supply chain.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies, particularly regarding environmental sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Track monthly cost savings and supply shortages.
  • Supervise suppliers' performance in the domain of leadtime, reactivity, reliability, and flexibility.
  • Manage material cost budget, variance, obsolescence, compliance issues and cost reduction processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop capabilities in our suppliers.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably within the solar energy or renewable energy industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost savings and favorable terms through effective vendor management.
  • Excellent analytical abilities with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of solar panel manufacturing processes, materials, and industry suppliers/vendors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a crossfunctional team environment and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards relevant to procurement and supply chain management in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • SAP experience is a plus.

Pay:
$100, $110,000.00 per year
