Duties and Responsibilities:


Essential Job Functions:

Serves as main contact for event facility rental bookings; schedules all events for the Beaumont Civic Center, Julie Rogers Theatre, and Jefferson Theatre; prospects within the national, regional and state areas to develop rental of city facilities; negotiates all contracts with lessees in accordance with established policies and procedures; establishes and maintains events calendar, establishes and maintains good working relationships with producers and promoters; assists with sales planning and strategies; coordinates with administrative and operations staff; works at events and venues.

Working Conditions:


  • Normal office environment. Must be available to work 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Must be available to work extended hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Subject to extreme noise, working indoors and outdoors.

Minimum Essential Qualifications:


Knowledge:
Knowledge of event planning; sales and marketing; and customer service techniques.


Skills/Abilities:

Skilled in making sales presentations, excellent organizational and writing skills; extensive skill in the use of scheduling software; ability to speak and/or make presentations to groups of various sizes; ability to work well with staff, and other city departments.


Physical Requirements:

Constantly sees, hears, sits, types, operates a PC and writes by hand; frequently files, sorts, twist body, pushes, pulls, lifts or carries objects weighing up to 25 lbs, stands, walks, operates a calculator, enters data and drives; infrequently kneels, cleans.


Education/Experience:

Graduation from college or university OR from high school with maximum five (5) years experience in sales, event coordination, or similar customer service oriented positions.
