  • The Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for stocking the housekeeping supplies, delivering guest requests, trash and linen pickup and delivery, and cleaning the guest hallways and public areas._

Requirements:


Core Responsibilities:


  • Clean guest hallways/corridors and public areas.
  • Remove trash from hallway trash cans, from housekeeping carts, from guest rooms and deposit in the trash dumpster.
  • Thoroughly vacuum guest hallways, elevators, carpet edges, stairwells, and thoroughly clean elevators. Shampoo carpets and mop floors when needed.
  • Clean vending areas, including ice machines, candy machines, and soda machines.
  • Dust light fixtures in the hallways, the fire extinguisher boxes, railings, etc.
  • Remove soiled linen from housekeeping carts and, using laundry carts, take to the laundry room to be cleaned.
  • Restock housekeeping carts and closets with supplies and clean linen as needed by the room attendants.
  • Take dirty glasses from the guest rooms and take to the dishwasher in the kitchen or housekeeping area for cleaning. Restock clean glasses as needed.
  • Stock amenities and cleaning supplies in storage areas.
  • Promptly and courteously deliver all items requested by guests within fifteen (15) minutes of request. Return items to Housekeeping once the guest is finished.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as cleaning spills, executing special guest requests, or assisting room attendants to clean rooms as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:


  • High work ethic and selfinitiative.
  • Regular attendance according to established guidelines.
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times.

Physical Requirements:


  • Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time.
  • Bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning requirements.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness and immediately report guest belongings that have been left behind.
  • Safely operate a golf cart, resort vehicle and tow a trailer.
  • Lift approximately fifty (50) pounds of equipment or supplies on and off a cart, using safe lifting techniques.
  • Push heavy carts, approximately one hundred (100) pounds.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability and visual ability.
