Summary


Under the supervision of the Shipping Lead or designee, the Warehouse Associate B is responsible for a broad range of mid-level Warehousing operations involving company resources, in accordance with pre-established requirements and specifications.

This includes packing company custom-made products and parts in standard or custom-made boxes or crates for shipments to conform to shipping and handling specifications.

The middle of Warehouse operation titles, this has moderate cross-functionality within all other areas of Warehousing operations.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities


This list of functions and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.


  • Operates a variety of fork truck / material handling equipment to fulfill internal and external customer work orders
  • Ability to operate and pick from high lift fork trucks.
  • Loads / unloads incoming raw material from open and closed trucks using overhead crane or forklift.
  • Builds shipping crates or containers—measure materials, cut, and assemble. Includes spacers to prevent damage.
  • Communicates between Warehouse department and other internal and external customers
  • Locates and retrieves parts/products from inventory, storage, or production departments.
  • May select packing materials from stock, or package parts while verifying shipments for correct parts and quantity. Labels boxes per order informational and record special handling instructions
  • Tertiary support of inventory control measures, as assigned.
  • Uses computer to accurately perform Warehouse, Shipping, Inventory, and/or Receiving transactions.
  • Processes LTL truck orders as needed; may order trucks while maintaining a business professional relationship with drivers
  • Provides working knowledge to the warehousing operations, including customer order fulfillment, receiving, inventory control, and shipping functions to reduce costs and increase reliability.
  • Oversees a safe working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Level of education usually acquired through completion of high school.
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Troubleshooting Aptitude

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to accurately scan labor, verify labor, and provide for corrections.
  • Ability to—when applicable—operate overhead crane, aerial lift, forklift, hand trucks, etc.
  • Ability to measure (using ruler, tapes) and count accurately.
  • Ability to identify material sizes, lengths, dimensions, metal type, etc.
  • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal and written instructions and perform basic math; including adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work with available supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
