Cotterman Company is the largest manufacturer of rolling metal and fixed metal ladders in North America.

We are looking for a motivated 1st Shift Robot Welding / Parts Lead to coordinate the departments in meeting production goals and quality standards.

Cotterman Company has one opening on the
1st shift as well as a competitive benefits package for full-time hires after a waiting period.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the shift in meeting production goals and quality standards.
• Be selfmanaged by working in areas that are critical to meet production and shipping goals.
• Coordinate with the Automation team to complete programming and fixture changes.
• Direct workforce in primary duties and redirect as required.
• Participate in training of employees and ensure employees understand and follow safe work and quality requirements.
• Help plan, execute, and evaluate shift productivity.
• Provide mutual support with other lead and supervisory staff.
• Communicate with Plant Manager and other leads daily.
• Lead in continuous improvement, safety, and ergonomic programs.
• Accurately interpret engineering shop drawings, work instructions and work orders.
• Inspects parts for quality (ensures parts meet quality standards and take immediate corrective action as necessary).
• Administer discipline in accordance with the employee handbook.
• Perform all duties consistent with the Cotterman employee handbook.
• Maintain knowledge of Company policies as outline in the employee handbook.
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent required, Related Technical / College Coursework preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work productively and train employees in Machine I & II manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated ability to work productively and train employees in all Robotic Welding manufacturing operations.
• As required provide support in training Robot Operators.
• Ability to operator all Machine Op I & II machinery preferred.
• Ability to effectively read and write to maintain accurate documentation.
• Aptitude and ability to setup and adjust presses, saws, notchers, pine benders and other related machinery.
• Ability to work on various shifts / split shirts as necessary.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Licensed, or ability to become licensed forklift truck operator.
• Ability to life and move up to 50 pounds routinely and safely.
• Ability to travel to other Company locations to perform essential duties.

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

Manufacturing Supervisory: 2 years (required)


Ability to Relocate:
