    What you will do:

    We are seeking a positive professional to provide quality services as a Personnel Services Specialist - SES within the Human Resources Office. This position performs work for the following programs for a Department of 11,000+ employees: Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Family Supportive Work Program (FSWP), Sick Leave Transfer Plan, Workers Compensation and Military Leave.

    How you will make an impact :

    Review and process requests for FMLA, FSWP, Sick Leave Transfer Plan, Workers Compensation and Military Leave to ensure that all employees' rights and responsibilities are administered appropriately in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

    Conduct research and analysis for all HR programs to provide customer service and assistance to supervisors and managers.

    Document all calls, requests, and any required action into the appropriate information system/tracking database. Monitor/track ticketed items/actions in system(s) database(s) as required.

    Prepare and mail correspondence regarding Leave Management matters.

    Create and update Excel, Word, and People First systems, spreadsheets, logs, processes, and documents.

    Assist with special projects with responsibility for providing input for developing solutions to Human Resource issues or concerns. Communicate the Departments concerns and expected results to project teams engaged in researching issues.

    Qualifications:

    Two years of professional Human Resources experience

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of computer software including applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

    Knowledge of the Departments (DCF) and Department of Management Services' (DMS) Personnel rules, policies, and procedures as it pertains to FMLA, FSWP, the Sick Leave Transfer Plan, Worker's Compensation and Military Leave.

    Knowledge of People First.

    Knowledge of research methods and tools, personal computers, data collection and analysis.

    Skilled in business professional written and verbal communication.

    Skilled in research techniques, analysis, and operating personal computers.

    Skilled in time management.

    Skilled in learning strategies using multiple approaches when learning.

    Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques and make independent decisions.

    Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

    Ability to communicate effectively.

    Ability to compose correspondence.

    Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
