Dr. Schar USA in Swedesboro, NJ is looking for a Production Worker in either our Bakery or Packaging departments. Our production team works 12 hour shifts with a 6am or 6pm start time. The scheduled days will be Monday through Wednseday with a rotating 12-hour Thursday every other week.


Packaging

• Execution of the production orders according to the instructions of Production Plan
• Visual inspection of packaging machines for safe operation (check belts, slicer oil, etc.).
• Startup and shutdown of packaging equipment during changeovers and plant shutdown.
• Operate packaging stations as directed by lead as needed and as certified trained

Stations include:

Cleanroom:
Slicer, Multi-Vac, and Floater/Support


Packaging line:
Table, Palletizing and Tester.

• Ensure product meets quality standards through visual inspection. Report deviations from standards to lead.
• Finish product and place in appropriate packaging to prepare for shipping to customers.
• Verify data screen for error messages (power, air pressure, etc.). Perform first level resolution for any errors / problem identified.
• Cooperate with largescale QA / R&D tests
• Cleaning of work area in the Clean Room and Packing area according to the cleaning instructions in Cleaning and Disinfection Plan and documentation of the process in Cleaning Record. Prepare equipment for next day of production.
• Notification of sources of danger in the clean room and observance of instructions from the Occupational Safety and Health management system
• Correct separation of waste according to Waste Control
• Observance of HACCP, allergy, glass and knife management.
• Observance of Safety Guidelines, Hygiene Guidelines, Internal Work Rules and Emergency and Evacuation Plan for Swedesboro Plant.
• All other duties as assigned

Bakery

• Operate machinery within assigned station within the bakery.
• Prepare or monitor product based on company specifications
• Monitor process to ensure meets food safety and quality standards
• Maintain records for oven or active machine in operation in compliance with Quality Program
• Set up/take down of machinery based on scheduled production product when necessary.
• Perform or assist with time critical changeovers and set up procedures of machines, preparation and changeover of hardware and material.
• Perform first level resolution of any errors/problems identified and inform technician on duty or production supervisor in case of deviations.
• Report any deviation of product specifications and product safety hazard to supervisor or responsible party
• Assist technician as needed during standard operations and troubleshooting (e,g, cleaning, dismantling of machinery, mixers, trays or oven components)
• Observe the indicated quality standards and production parameters in the individual process steps as specified
• Cooperate with QA and R & D departments for deviations of tests.
• Correct separation of waste according to waste control
• Participate in cleaning area and machinery during shift, shutdowns, and startups.
• Support department as needed to cover for breaks
• Observance of hygiene, HACCP, allergen, glass and blade management
• Observance of Safety Guidelines, Hygiene Guidelines, Internal Work Rules and Emergency and Evacuation Plan for Swedesboro Plant for employees in the facility.
• All other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Stand/Walk for up to 12 hours
• Push/Pull up to 35 lbs.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Bend, crouch, reach as needed
• Walk up/down stairs
• Use hands to push, pull, install or dismantle equipment.
• Ability to tolerate repetitive hand motions to pack bread products and move packaging materials

Pay:
From $18.50 per hour
