    Description

    Position Overview:
    Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an experienced Propulsion Engineer to lead development of propulsion systems for autonomous aircraft

    Minimum Requirements:


    Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering (or related STEM discipline).7years of relevant industry experience (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).Demonstrated expertise in aerospace propulsion systems.

    Excellent written and communication skillsMust be a US Person.
    Candidates should expect to travel up to 20% of their time.


    Desired Requirements:
    Demonstrable leadership experience on a cross-functional teamExperience with engine-airframe integration, fuel systems, and power generation systems.
    Experience leading aerospace propulsion system development, from conceptual design through production.

    Experience with business capture and early concept development for commercial, government, and military propulsion systemsSystems engineering experience with powerplant design including system safety assessments, failure hazard analysis, and certification and test plans.

    System architectures design and performance analysis experience.
    System component requirements definition, design, and development experience.
    Experience with electric and hybrid-electric propulsion systems .Experience with propulsion system test planning, setup, and execution.
    Experience using CAD systems (CATIA preferred).


    Physical Requirements:
    Must be able to lift up to 22lbs
