    This Role:

    Our team is currently seeking a skilled Materials Control Supervisor. This will be a full time, Mon-Thurs 5a to 3:30pm position located at our Huntsville, AL production facility reporting to our Materials Control Manager.

    What You Will Do:

    The Materials Supervisor helps Duravent meet customer commitments by ensuring that their assigned production facility has the right materials in the right place at the right time. The Materials Supervisor (and materials team) will do this through a variety of daily actions, all related to managing the flow of materials and maintaining an accurate inventory of materials in their facility.

    How You Will Do It:

    People Leadership:

    • Serve as the direct manager for approximately 12 unionized team members in the areas of shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventorying.
    • Perform personnel management in alignment with union policies and procedures for absenteeism, vacation, overtime and discipline.
    • Perform employee training, monitor job performance, monitor team vacation and attendance schedules, and lead corrective action procedures when necessary
    • Help team to embrace customer-centric mentality – specifically, meeting the needs of customers through the timely and efficient delivery of materials

    Data/Reporting:

    • Utilize/update the Obeya board which tracks Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People. Lead daily stand-up meetings discussing major KPIs in these areas.
    • Maintain inventory and shipping/receiving data accuracy within local ERP

    Hands-On Work:

    • Provide direct material handling support to shipping/receiving teams when needed, including: loading/offloading of materials, verifying and accurately stocking materials
    • Guide team in maintaining a safe and orderly workplace utilizing 5S standards

    What We're Looking For:

    Candidates who:

    • Hold current and valid authorization for employment within the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship (required)
    • Can pass a drug screen and background check and are willing to become forklift certified (required)
    • Offer several years of progressive work experience managing materials within a manufacturing environment (required)
    • Have previous experience with + working knowledge of various ERPs, WMS, and Microsoft Office Suite (required)
    • Offer higher education in a related field (preferred)

    Work Environment:

    This position will require the ability to lift and move 25 lbs, drive a forklift, and safely travel across a production facility.
