Where you will work:
_This position will be based out of Astound's Northampton, PA office._**
A Day in the Life of the Headend Technician I:
  • _Monitor video and audio quality of services_
- _Daily check of RF levels and alignment_
- _Verify video and audio levels for satellite and stereo processing equipment_
- _Monitor commercial insertion equipment_
- _Perform status monitoring_
- _Work with NOC, Dispatch, and OSP to detect and resolve plant and headend signal impairments and outages related to Cable TV, Telephone, and Cable Modems_
- _Work with other departments to install and activate new equipment in hubs and to build new hubs when required_
- _Responsible for the connectorization of audio, RG11, RG 59 and RG 6, Ethernet CAT 5 and CAT 6 cable_
- _Program hospitality TV's with FTG (free-to-guest) software and management appliances for Pro:idiom video delivery. Maintain the analog channel lineup for bulk accounts_
- _On-call training rotation supported by a Headend Technician III and work overtime when the needs of the company requires_
- _Work with Outside Plant Technicians and Contractors to verify correct balancing of the fiber link from the hub to the node_
- _Use various test equipment: RF meters, optical power meters, spectrum analyzers, PON meters, voltage-multi meters_
- _Follow required procedures for establishing and maintaining a safe work zone_
- _Other duties as assigned_


What You Bring to the Table:

  • _Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience_
- _Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Accurately measure distances using measuring devices, differentiate between color and sizes of wire_


Physical Requirements:

- _Ability to lift up to 75 lbs._
- _Ability to climb a 28 foot ladder._


Education and Certifications:

- _High school diploma or equivalent_
- _Cisco Certification (preferred)_
