POSITION REQUIREMENTS_

Total Education, Vocational, Training, and Experience: High School Graduate or equivalent.

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

  • Excellent professional, organizational, and communication skills.
  • General office and secretarial skills preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use personal computer and word processing software (Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook,)
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax, telephone, intercom, copier).
  • Must treat all patient and employee information as confidential.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to use discretion in dealing with the public
  • Completes and orientation program including education regarding adverse event reporting.

ESSENTIAL AND SECONDARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES_


A. Job Knowledge

  • Assumes responsibility for pristine environment.
1.1 Responsible for notifying appropriate services as needed (pest control, plowing service, office equipment maintenance, etc)

1.2 Observes that the parking area and the entrance to the buildings are free of trash and debris.

1.3 Responsible for the overall appearance of the lobby/waiting area.


1.4 Maintains work area in an organized and neat manner, and that patient admission/intake is handled in a private area.

1.5 Maintains the patient/family waiting area kitchen as needed.


  • Acts as a resource center for facility.
2.1 Recognizes Corporate Officers, Partners and Administrators in the area.

2.2 Responsible for having maps/directions on hand to other area facilities.

2.3 Serves as resource person for other employees and physicians.


  • Participates in admission process.
3.1 Admits patients in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner according to procedures.

3.2 Gathers accurate and complete financial, insurance, and personal demographic information.

3.3 Clearly communicates individual patient financial responsibility professionally and courteously to all patients prior to the scheduled service date.


3.4 Obtains insurance verification and authorization for patient services in a timely manner from insurers for us to provide needed care.

3.5 Collects for self-pay portions of bills.

3.6 Conducts an interview to obtain biographical information.

3.7 Demonstrates the appropriate use of the admissions computer systems.


3.8 General understanding of the laws, both State and Federal, that affect our ability to collect balances due from patients, insurers, and/or their agents.

B. Service Commitment


  • Efficiently and accurately supports admission process.
1.1 Prepare all forms completely and accurately prior to the arrival of all admissions.

1.2 Route all admission forms to the appropriate departments.

1.3 Keep a record of all denied admissions and the reason for the denial.

1.4 Schedule patients for surgery.

1.5 Enter daily charge slips in an accurate and timely manner.


  • Utilizes time effectively.
2.1 Participates in inventory count and materials management functions.

2.2 Stocks and replenishes supplies

2.3 Works in coordination with the Business Office Manager


  • Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
3.1 Demonstrates competent usage of proper body mechanics in all activities.

3.2 Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies supervisor.

3.3 Completes all employee/patient incident documentation in a thorough and timely manner, as required by policy.

3.4 Demonstrates complete understanding of established emergency procedures for department and facility.

3.5 Practices infection control and standard precautions as instructed or trained.


  • Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of supplies, prepares requisition forms, and orders supplies and equipment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in orientation of new personnel.
Attends and participates in all applicable training and development workshops scheduled by the facility.


Pay:
$ $19.00 per hour
