The Position:


Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (CCCFPD), a recognized fire service leader and one of the largest in the state, provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to some 770,000 residents in 12 cities and several defined unincorporated areas across our 553-square-mile jurisdiction in Contra Costa County, California.

What you will typically be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing a building and grounds plan for the Training Center or other District work sites
  • Coordinating preventative maintenance and developing a repair and replacement schedule
  • Supporting remodel projects and providing project management within the District
  • Facilitating the bid process for contracts and RFPs
  • Ensuring the quality of work of contractors

The eligible list established from this recruitment will remain in effect for six (6) months.


Minimum Qualifications:


Experience:
Three (3) years of full-time experience, or its equivalent, performing maintenance/repair work in a major facility.

One (1) year of the required experience must have included supervisory experience as a lead worker or higher in one of the following areas: carpentry, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, electronic systems, painting, plumbing, or steam-fitting.


Desirable Qualifications:


  • Good analytical skills and organizational/planning ability.
  • Strong background in building/facility maintenance processes and project management
  • Willingness to teach and be hands on

Selection Process:


  • The Interview may take place via computer (remotely), if so, you will need access to a reliable internet connection to take the assessment, as well as a computer or mobile device with a camera.
