- Understand, quantify, and communicate the state tax implications of proposed business and/or tax law changes.
- Seek to be a valued partner to governments and advocate for tax legislation that provides clarity and encourages innovation and growth.
- Assist with state tax research and be able to effectively document application of relative state laws to business models.
- Perform ongoing review and research of domestic tax laws, court decisions, and administrative pronouncements to ensure the company's compliance and find opportunities for tax savings.
- Help to drive efficiencies through standardization & use of technology to streamline processes and ensure consistency.
- Assist with ad-hoc requests, including planning models and analysis.
- Quantify, document, and report state tax reserves, as needed.
- Collaborate with the tax compliance group to ensure planning strategies are implemented into current tax filings and are supportable on future audits.
- Assist with developing recommendations and collaborating with business partners outside of tax, including varying levels of leadership.
- As needed, assist with federal and state tax audits and related matters.
- Document tax processes and identify process improvements. Provide support for other corporate tax projects and processes as needed.
