CHB is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to fill the role of Medical Coding Specialist to join our esteemed team.
Position Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Review medical bills, records, and documentation for accuracy and ensure proper coding, billing, and filing with insurance companies and government agencies
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, DRG, ICD9, ICD10 codes, and medical collection practices.
- Assign appropriate ICD diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes to patient encounters based on medical documentation for billing and reimbursement purposes
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify information and resolve coding discrepancies proper coding.
- Performs an ongoing audit of client accounts to ensure optimum reimbursement and coding compliance.
- Stay uptodate and ensure compliance with coding guidelines, including those set forth by the CMS and other regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with and give feedback to clients regarding coding and documentation guidelines; educate clients on coding policy and/or procedure changes
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Requirements (Experience):
- Minimum of 1 year experience in medical coding and medical terminology
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing and coding systems, and medical office procedures.
- Proficiency in ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Experience with medical records management and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
Pay:
$ $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
