The Director of Health Communications will play a pivotal role in driving the Celiac Disease Foundation's educational initiatives, communications, and outreach efforts for patients, healthcare professionals and industry.
Reporting to the Chief Education & Community Engagement Officer, this role emphasizes resource development, communications, and utilizing data-driven methods to enhance the Foundation's educational impact.
- Key Responsibilities:_
Health Communications Management:
- Develops and implements a comprehensive strategic marketing & communications plan to strengthen and advance the Celiac Disease Foundation's health education, research, community engagement, policy, and development programs.
- Creates new and innovative collateral to describe the Foundation's work and share new developments in a way that is compelling and relevant to multiple audiences; manages all marketing and communications materials including website, newsletter, social media, decks, one sheets, brochures, and all other Foundation collateral.
- Collaborate with all Foundation teams to develop communications materials that support ongoing initiatives.
- Support implementation of awareness campaigns run by the Foundation.
- Collaborate with Director of Development to manage May Celiac Disease Awareness Month promotional activities.
Health Education Program Management:
- In partnership with the Chief Education Officer, design, implement, and expand educational programs, workshops, and training materials for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers, and community members to ensure accurate and uptodate information is incorporated into educational content for patient families.
- Support logistics for ongoing educational programs sponsored by the Celiac Disease Foundation at hospital centers, national and international societies, and webbased symposiums.
- Support training programs that educate food service providers and professionals on safe glutenfree food preparation, minimizing the risk of crosscontamination and ensuring the wellbeing of individuals with celiac disease.
- Develop and implement nutrition education programs and resources for individuals with celiac disease, focusing on glutenfree diet management and overall health.
- Provide expert guidance and support to individuals, families, and healthcare professionals on nutritionrelated topics in celiac disease and other cooccurring conditions.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to expand the reach of the Foundation's initiatives (i.e., DIGID, AGA, Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics).
- Support educational programs to engage individuals affected by celiac disease, including support groups, online forums, and community events.
Resource Creation:
- Create educational resources, including brochures, fact sheets, web content, and multimedia materials, to empower individuals with celiac disease and their caregivers.
- Stay current on the latest developments in celiac disease research and treatment to provide accurate and timely information.
- Explore innovative ways to utilize technology and digital platforms for educational outreach.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Track and analyze the effectiveness of education initiatives through data collection and reporting.
- Use insights to continuously improve programs and measure the impact of the Foundation's education and communications programming.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nutrition or related field.
- Minimum five years industry experience in nutritionrelated marketing and communications.
- Exceptional proven written communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Fluency in celiac disease or related health topics.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
