Full Time Day Shift
The Surgical Services Scheduler assumes responsibility for scheduling and coordinating all surgical and endoscopic procedures, as well as, any necessary communication with Physician offices.
Essential Duties:
- Schedules all procedures to be performed in the ASC (e.g. surgery, GI procedures and pain procedures)
- Receives scheduled procedures from physician offices and transcribes/enters data accurately in HST Scheduling program.
- Assures receipt and documentation of complete and accurate patient information for every surgical or endoscopic procedure following CRASC's policy and procedures regarding patient identification.
Confirms correct patient and date of birth, verifies correct spelling of patient's name, correct procedure - including correct site and/or side, and verifies correct surgeon and assistants.
- Acts as liaison between CRASC and CRHC Providers and office staff
- Uses appropriate judgment in scheduling procedures according to scheduling guidelines, protocols, or Block schedules.
- Notifies or consults Nursing Director and/or ASC Administrator of any conflicts or issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinates, publishes, and distributes daily Surgical and Endo schedules both within the ASC and physician offices.
- Knowledgeable of HST data base for medical staff members Delineation of Privileges to determine appropriateness of procedures.
- Notifies Administrator/ Nursing Director if questions arise.
- Considers priorities and patient/equipment special needs when scheduling surgical procedures.
- Schedules procedures according to nursing staff and anesthesia staff availability, patient needs and physicians block time.
- Regulates schedule according to procedure and physicians time and staffing requirements.
- Coordinates schedule with time and equipment availability: identifies conflicts and adjust schedule as needed.
- Follows procedure for notification of changes in the schedule (e.g. cancellation, rescheduling)
- Copies, prepares and records any additional information necessary and utilizes computer and fax machine as necessary.
- Verifies each record and fax with patients name and DOB. Maintains confidentiality of all patient's information needs.
Pay:
From $19.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
