    Description

    17% extra for weeknight shifts, 26% for weekend nights, or 15% additional for weekend day shifts

    Department: Adult Oncology

    • FTE: 0.05
    • Position: Casual Pool (as needed)
    • Shift: Days

    Position Summary:

    • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients in line with clinical specialty
    • Act as a role model to foster a positive work environment and high-quality patient care
    • Ensure compliance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures
    • RN Per Diem I required to work a minimum of two shifts per schedule, including one weekend shift and one summer and one winter holiday
    • Does not qualify for out of area float pay
    • Patient care assignment may vary across different age groups

    Detailed Responsibilities:

    • PATIENT CARE - Deliver safe care to assigned patients
    • POLICIES - Adhere to hospital policies
    • CARE PLAN - Implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient/family education
    • TESTS & PROCEDURES - Assist with tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent
    • PARTICIPATION - Engage in orientation and preceptor responsibilities
    • EMERGENCY MEASURES - Assist with emergency situations
    • MEDICAL RECORDS - Ensure completeness of patient records
    • INQUIRIES - Answer calls following departmental policy
    • MEDICATION - Administer medication and communicate findings
    • ENVIRONMENT - Maintain a safe environment for patients
    • DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth through education and training
    • PATIENT SAFETY - Follow safety protocols and report concerns
    • PATIENT CENTERED MED - Adhere to patient-centered practices

    Qualifications

    • Education:
      • Essential: Program Graduate
      • Nonessential: Bachelor's Degree
    • Experience:
      • Essential: 1 year directly related experience
      • Nonessential: No preferred experience
    • Credentials:
      • Essential: CPR for Healthcare/BLS Certification, RN License
      • Nonessential: Specialty certifications (if applicable)
    • Physical Conditions: Heavy Work
    • Working conditions: Significant Hazardous Conditions
