- Build and deploy robust data visualization reports, dashboards and insights within a focused area of the Brenntag business value stream to enable business decisions, drive performance and lead to the accomplishment of annual goals
- Evolve analytics capabilities and champion visualization and dashboarding best practices for development, data quality and deployment, including fast, iterative experimentation and measurement
- Project manage and deliver large visualization projects with multiple business stakeholders on firm deadlines
- Utilize expertise to collaborate with key partners to understand requirements for dashboards and interactive dashboards, to drive knowledge into action and support data driven decision making
- Lead development and ongoing management of tools and processes, establishing metrics to monitor plans and communicate critical reports
- Work independently and take initiative to identify, explore and solve problems
- Document and communicate systems/analytics changes to the business, translating complex functionality into business relevant language
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to iterate on the design and implementation of data visualization products
- Serve as an expert on data visualization and self-service analytics supporting a community of analysts across the organization
- Keep current on data visualization technology and best practices
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, operations research, behavioral sciences or related field
- 5 years of relevant experience developing dashboards, data visualizations and self-service tools
- Strong experience in leveraging data visualization and dashboarding techniques to make complex data more accessible, understandable and usable to drive business decisions and outcomes
- Expert with data extraction and analysis technologies such as Tableau, Power BI, SAS, QlikView, SQL or similar tools
- Experienced in developing, testing and implementing/maintaining intuitive dashboards and self service tools
- Ability to collaborate with key partners to understand/identify requirements, drive knowledge into action and support data driven decision making
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
- Experience in definition of new measures, and the translation of business goals into quantitative metrics and reporting
- Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypotheses and make recommendations required
- Ability to work independently requiring minimal direction, execute large projects following established guidelines/procedures and take initiative to explore and solve problems
- Experience with large data sets, data models, and intermediate SQL skills ; experience with a statistical package is a plus (such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.)
- Good understanding of key topics in marketing science, data science, and applied analytics as well as emerging trends in market research, consumer insights, ecommerce, digital marketing, and mobile app development
