- Collaborate with the director and team on experimental design, bench and animal studies, and data analysis.
- Lead regular project meetings and data reviews.
- Provide expertise to assist lab trainees in achieving their research goals and milestones.
- Support grant administration, project budgets, and scientific reporting.
- Lead in drafting manuscripts and grant applications.
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Immunology, or related fields with a focus on cancer immunology and biosensors.
- Expertise in developing biocircuits for cancer therapy or diagnostics.
- Proficient in cell and molecular biology techniques, including cell culture, chromatography, electrophoresis, and flow cytometry.
- Skilled in animal studies, live animal imaging, and related procedures.
- Experience in molecular cloning, lentivirus production, and protein purification.
- Proficiency with statistical software and desire to mentor students.

The Laboratory for Synthetic Immunity (LSI) is an interdisciplinary research group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech & Emory School of Medicine. Founded in 2014 by Director Dr. Gabe Kwong, the mission of LSI is to pioneer groundbreaking immunotherapies and diagnostics to detect diseases early and develop treatments for better patient outcomes.
We are looking for talented individuals to join our research team as a Postdoctoral Researcher. The ideal candidate will be a motivated and creative individual who will innovate new immune biosensors using principles from synthetic biology and cell engineering for early cancer detection. They will lead experimental design, execute experiments, and interpret results for project success.
The successful candidate will excel in teamwork and collaboration, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and foster a positive and inclusive lab culture.
