Summary of Position:
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Files, retrieves, creates and maintains geological & geophysical data including 2D & 3D seismic navigation data and aerial and satellite imagery.
- Employ geospatial software and analytical tools to organize geological data.
- Loads and updates well data and well locations in existing databases using appropriate software.
- Supports all operation functions including the creation of maps, PowerPoint slides, montages, charts and reports as required.
- Generate and compile geological information required for government regulatory compliance.
- Maintains company geographical and spatial databases, file systems and records archives, and anticipates needs of geologists and engineers in their use.
- Prepares support documentation for portfolio presentations.
- Verifies the accuracy of reports, maps and reservoir data.
- Will act as a key technical expert, facilitating collaboration between Civitas geoscience teams and IT experts.
- May train lower level technicians, monitor accuracy and completeness of work and assigns tasks as required.
- Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with CIVI Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements.
- Assure work performed adheres to CIVI standards.
- Perform other duties and complete projects as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Proficient in Kingdom, Petra, Enverus Subsurface Studio (ESS/Transform) and ARCGIS software.
- Knowledge regarding industry standard engineering databases a plus.
- Expertise in data mining and synchronization with third party vendor dbases (IHS, Enverus, State Oil and Gas Commission online resources)
- Strong knowledge of petroleum geology and engineering principles
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication required.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.
- Ability to thrive in both an independent and collaborative work environment and have exceptional skills in managing multiple demands, including prioritizing deadlines.
- Motivated selfstarter that takes initiative and solves problems.
- Ability to professionally collaborate with other departments.
- Initiates and develops reliable data sources
- Proficient in Microsoft 360 products (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Experience with Data Visualization Software, such as Power BI or Spotfire preferred.
Education & Experience:
- Associates degree in a relevant technical field required; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant O&G operator experience
- Familiarity with all oil & gas operations required.
Travel Requirements:
- Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
- Schedule: traditional 40hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4hour workdays Friday.
- Travel required to the Civitas field locations.
