Description

The delivery driver is responsible for the delivery, set up, and pick up of durable medical equipment and supplies to nursing homes, hospitals, and residential homes.

A cargo van is provided to the employee with an onboard touch screen GPS navigation system.

Each day management and New England Surgical will assign predetermined deliveries and also communicate to the driver's vehicle by cellular phone to dispatch new deliveries.

Each van will contain enough inventory for the predetermined deliveries and will be provided with extra equipment for new orders to be fulfilled that day.


The driver will be responsible at the start of the day for picking of equipment and supplies from and warehouse as indicated on customer delivery tickets/patient agreement forms and then load all items into the delivery vehicle.

Driver then goes through a final check and inspection prior to leaving the warehouse to insure that all orders are complete and onboard.


Driver will provide instruction and set up of products when necessary to customers and is responsible for the delivery of all products to customers in a timely and professional manner.

The role of driver involves interacting with the customer, inside New England Surgical customer services representatives, and office manager regarding deliveries.

Driver will perform deliveries Monday through Friday and will work approximately one weekend per month. When a driver works a weekend, time off will be provided Tuesday and Wednesday on the following week.


Job Qualifications:

  • Safe driving record.
  • Must be able to navigate, read a map, and operate a GPS device.
  • Have excellent customer service skills.
  • Physically fit to perform job functions.
  • Complete delivery and pickup paperwork promptly, accurately, and submits to office at end of day.
  • Returns and unloads returned rental equipment to the warehouse.
  • Assists in cleaning rental equipment and minor repair when requested.
  • Performs daily check maintenance on vehicle and completes a daily log identifying all deliveries and pickups for each day.
  • Performs warehouse and office maintenance tasks as requested by management.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Mechanical and basic math aptitude.
  • Must be a team player, work with minimum supervision and execute decisions made by management.
  • Must pass preemployment drug test and random drug testing.
  • Accepts other Duties as assigned.
Education/Experience

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 12 months experience driving a commercial vehicle.
