- Mentor, educate, and train staff on safety protocols
- Promote a positive safety culture within the team
- Participate in safety meetings as needed
- Conduct on-site assessments and suggest safety practices
- Facilitate pre-task planning, audits, job safety analyses (JSAs), and permit processes
- Lead site-specific orientations, training sessions, and toolbox talks
- Prepare reports required by the job site
- Minimum of 5 years of direct construction safety oversight experience
- Thorough understanding of Construction Safety Standards (1926)
- Demonstrated proficiency in various construction and safety practices
- Preferably experienced in ground-up construction safety oversight
- Strong analytical and problems-solving skills
- Effective leadership and mentorship qualities
- Proven ability to collaborate with teams at all levels
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- OSHA 30 Construction certification obtained in the last 5 years
- OSHA 510 and/or 500 certifications
- Certifications from BCSP, STSC, CHST, or CSP highly valued
- Degree in a safety-related field preferred
- First Aid CPR AED certification mandatory
- Prolonged standing and walking, often on tough terrain
- Ability to climb ladders
- Capability to stoop, crawl, and bend
- Able to lift up to 30lbs
- Background check and potential drug screening mandated
- Overtime and flexible hours may be necessary as per project needs
- Residence within a reasonable commuting distance preferable
