Summary


The Area Vice President (AVP) Sales provides high level management for a highly trained sales team, develops plans and strategies to grow the business, has responsibilities to the sales budget, and motivates the sales team to achieve their goals.


Area Vice President Sales Major Responsibilities

  • Develop & implement effective sales strategies and innovative concepts for the sales and hospital channels organizations alongside the CRO. Update as required to ensure the business stays focused on key organizational goals
  • Ability to lead a team to meet and exceed assigned regional sales budget
  • Oversee field sales directors, to ensures compliance and execution of sales initiatives by continuously the sales team
  • Work with Hospital AMs and Field Sales Directors to create consistency between the core and hospital sales teams
  • Work with hospital account managers to optimize processes, increase eligibility, and continue to grow hospital channels business and customer loyalty
  • Work with the RD Lead to ensure all operational duties, sales messaging, and processes are effectively communicated to among the RDs
  • Proactively identify gaps and strengths in current sales processes, make necessary changes, and ensure optimal sales performance moving forward
  • Ensures compliance and execution of sales initiatives by continuously reviewing, monitoring sales plans, sales reporting information, key statistics and directing sales activities
  • Work collaboratively with operational and financial leaders to ensure optimal business performance
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, financial management, and written & oral communication skills
  • Work with the Sr. Director of Sales Operations to ensure alignment and proper prioritization for the sales team to achieve their goals.
  • Identifies deficiencies in skills among sales leaders managed, and works to improve individuals' capabilities through coaching, development, and training
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

Area Vice President Sales Qualifications**
Education/Learning Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in health care, business, or pharmacy administration


Desired:
Master's degree.


Work Experience Required:
Proven sales track record indicating accomplishment and successes. Minimum of 3 years Pharmaceutical or Specialty Pharmacy field management.


Skills/Knowledge Required:
Demonstrated analytical skills to help define and establish strategies and action plans. Demonstrated understanding of oncology therapeutic area, products and marketplace. Familiar with trade relations, reimbursement environment, government programs, managed care, formulary and contract negotiation. Strong presentation, organization, administrative and communication skills


Desired:
Excel, Word, Outlook and Sales CRM Tools.


Behavior Competencies Required:
Extensive travel within the assigned regional territory (50%). Must have access to airport and transportation.
